Charlotte Pearl Dashevsky, 81, a native of Bronx, N.Y., former resident of New Jersy and Merrimack, N.H., and a resident of Lillian since 1987, died peacefully Wednesday, May 4, 2011.
She was active for many, many years in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Special Olympics, Optimist Club of Lillian, where she held many board positions; and participated in Relay for Life since 1990.
She loved spending time with her family and RVing with her husband. She could always be found playing bingo and doing her many crafts. She founded the Stitchery Club of Spanish Cove in 1990, and all can remember she was Mrs. Claus in the Optimist Christmas Parade. She was a member of Congregation Beth El of Pensacola.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Melvin Dashevsky, in 1996.
Survivors include two Harriet (John) Nowrey of Nashua, N.H., and Robert Dashevsky of Lillian; grandchildren, Robert (Tracey) White of Wake Forest, N.C., Brian (Jessica) White of Raleigh, N.C., Brian (Amy) Mendez of Merrimack, N.H., Jamie Dashevsky and Bradley Dashevsky of New Jersey, Zachary and Jacob Dasevsky of Lillian; great-grandchildren, Ian and Brooke White of Wake Forest, Mckayla and Maxwell Mendez of Merrimack, N.H.; many in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation begins at 8 a.m. with funeral services at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11 at Hibbard Funeral Home, Pensacola, Fla., with Rabbi Israel officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemeter, NAS Pensacola.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
