Rex T. Childress, 71, a native and lifelong resident of Loxley, died Sunday, April 27, 2008.
He served in the U.S. Army, enjoyed hunting and the outdoors and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Mary T. Childress of Loxley; two daughters, Lynn (James) Bouressa of Navarre, Fla., and Leigh Childress of Silverhill; three sons, Dusty (Beth) Childress of Robertsdale, Tom (Laurie) Childress of Central, S.C., and Matthew Childress of Loxley; brother, Max Childress of Loxley; sister, Brenda Harper of Robertsdale; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 30 at Mack Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike White officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Loxley.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
