GULF SHORES, Ala. — Music will fill the air as the St. Andrew by the Sea Chancel Choir presents “O Come Emmanuel” on Dec. 6, at 4 p.m.
The program will feature lessons and carols from a variety of traditions, and readings by Jack Bell. The service will end with a unique arrangement of “Silent Night” sung in English and German.
St. Andrew Choral Director Dr. Roger Jones, composer, retired University of Louisiana-Monroe professor of music and former conductor of the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, will conduct the choir and musicians.
Jones is currently adjunct teacher of music at Faulkner State Community College, and co-conductor of the Baldwin Pops Band.
Accompanying the choir will be St. Andrew Director of Music Joan Hand, the Branyon Bell Choir, Bessie Malone, a string quartet, horn and flute.
A warm invitation is extended to the public on behalf of all the musicians to join them as they present their gift of music in celebration of this joyous season. A nursery will be provided for young children.
St. Andrew by the Sea, a Community Church, is located at 17263 State Hwy. 180 W. (Fort Morgan Road) in Gulf Shores.
