Christian Service Center in Gulf Shores elects officers

The Christian Service Center in Gulf Shores recently elected officers for a The Christian Service Center has faced and overcome several challenges of their own with wholehearted dedication. Since opening their doors in 1991, the all volunteer work force of the CSC has successfully offered the residents of Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Fort Morgan with an emergency aid program and a food pantry program.

Running a fully stocked food pantry takes a lot of electricity and the electrical outages incurred during Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina left the CSC volunteers scrambling to save their frozen food supplies in order to feed  local families in need. The recent Gulf oil spill again has left many local residents asking the CSC caseworkers for assistance.

In spite of money being in short supply at the CSC, the number of individuals receiving help to date is nearing 40,000, including 18,000 children thanks to the loyal support of local churches, businesses, individuals and organizations.

Located at 317 Dolphin Ave in Gulf Shores, the CSC is open Monday to Friday from 9 am until noon. For appointments or questions, please call 251.968.5256.
