The American Public has been traumatized since 9/11 psychologically, emotionally and physically. The American continent has always known pain in some form since shortly after its founding in 1492. Actually the Chinese explorers state they really discovered American in the early 1400’s, but that is another story we will discuss in the future.
Pain has been and unfortunately, will always be with us. It is one of the body’s warning systems that something is wrong. Many people get to a point in life that they can’t take the pain any longer and have to have some type of relief. This is why prescription medication became so popular in the early 1900s. Here we are a century later and the American public is not so keen on medication any longer. They are now looking for a way out of the quicksand that the pharmaceutical industry has so brilliantly placed the public.
Every week, we are reading that medications are being pulled off of the market, either by their company or by the FDA. Some are under investigation before they ever reach the market place; others are under consumer health advisories. There are warnings out to Physicians to “stop prescribing” other medications. We have black market drugs available on the Internet and in foreign countries, others in these foreign countries see what a raping the American public accepts and still goes back for more from the pharmaceutical industry, and these foreign “consumers” want some of the “American money” for themselves. Some of our foreign friends just couldn’t stand not getting in on the pillage and profit, now they are ripping people off with diluted formulas and fabricated medications that are being offered online and through the black market.
Acupuncture is without question one of the most powerful pain altering treatments in the world. It’s reputation for pain relief is known and respected internationally. Literally millions of Americans suffer chronic pain and are beginning to hunt and request care of those knowledgeable in the academics of acupuncture, to help ease their pain and lessen their dependency on dangerous and now questionable prescriptions.
The great thing is now there are a number of ways to accomplish acupuncture pain treatment. There are pain techniques and procedures available to the patient if he or she would elect an alterative form of treatment. The doctor can use needles, electronic stimulation, ultrasound, or hand pressure (Shiatsu) on the acupuncture points. Laser stimulation is the most recent innovation in the science utilized by the acupuncture profession. The procedure doesn’t involve the use of needles and is completely painless.
Today the use of acupuncture is so accepted there are more schools of Acupuncture than schools of Osteopathy and Chiropractic combined. It is the fastest growing of all health care professions. This surge in approval over the past twenty years is primarily because acupuncture is the most eminent part of the Asian system of medicine. The system pre-dates Western medicine by thousands of years and is a holistic, natural and safe treatment approach to health care. If you are in pain and need to investigate a form of treatment other than traditional drugs and surgery consider investigating acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as part of your treatment plan.
