FAIRHOPE, Ala.—Jubilee Music Inc.,   will sponsor a Meet the Artist event featuring Lisa Drey on April 18, noon to 2 p.m.

The public is invited to meet Drey and hear her perform some of her arrangements. The Fairhope resident has recently published the companion music book to her previously recorded CD, “Melodies from the Heart, Classic Hymns for the Church Musician.   Books,” and CDs will be available for purchase and autographing at that time.

Born across the bay, Drey became church pianist at Mobile’s Azalea Baptist at age 13.  In early adulthood she played for other Mobile area churches. Drey and her family lived in Oregon from 1992 until 2006, when they moved to Fairhope.

The mother of three and grandmother of four is the pianist for Fish River Baptist Church in Fairhope. Much of her time is devoted to her music and writing her own arrangements.   “Melodies from the Heart” contains familiar hymns arranged very simply, introducing intermediate and advanced students to this style of music.

Jubilee Music, located at 505 N. Section St., is a retail music store offering a full line of band instruments, sheet music, sound equipment, keyboards, accessories and repairs.
