FAIRHOPE, Ala. - As its next meeting on May 9, the City Council could appoint several citizen representatives to a committee to study and recommend a development plan for North Greeno Road, but no one has yet applied at the city’s website, according to staff.
“We are seeking to have a diverse group on the committee,” Councilman Rick Kingrea stated in an email this week. “Hopefully, we will have all points of view represented.”
The council created the committee April 11, after several Greeno Road property owners requested it at an earlier Planning Commission meeting. Kingrea requested then that the application form and a note about the committee vacancies be placed on the city’s website, which is found by clicking on “Government” then “City Committees.”
The application process is stated at the top of that page with a link to the application form. It states that forms are also available at the City Clerk’s office, where they must be submitted.
The committee will be chaired by commission vice chair Dick Charles and will include Kingrea and Councilwoman Debbie Quinn. There are three remaining citizen places to be filled, including two reserved for Greeno Road property owners. At its April 25 meeting, Ralph Thayer was appointed to one of the two open citizen seats.
The clerk’s office is located at City Hall and can be reached at 251-928-2136, or by email at candace.antinarella@cofairhope.com
The application form is found at this link on the city’s website: www.cofairhope.com/gov_committees.php)
