Fire Department monthly report

For August, numbers were down slightly.

u 94 incidents for the month, included 32 different types of incidents, the department is an all hazards agency.

u 26 were motor vehicle accidents

u 1 large building fire that they aided Elberta FD with, barn was a total loss, but worked quite well with Elberta and no injuries or damage to equipment.

Very busy month with public relations and education:

u 120 individuals taught CPR,

u 25 individuals taught first aid and

u 11 individuals went on a station tour, for a total of 156 contacts.

Inspections numbers were up for the month of August. The fire department assisted in

u 10 commercial plan reviews,

u 34 public contacts or meetings,

u 16 new construction inspections and

u 1 inspection in an existing building, for a total of 17 inspections for the month and a total of 433 for the year.

Police Department monthly report for August

u 127 on view misdemeanor arrests,

u 9 felony on view arrests made

u 41 DUI arrests made

u 501 citations issued

u 292 warnings issued

u 700 close patrols were made

u 191 motorists assisted

u 111 wrecks were responded to,

82 alarms were answered

u 188 positive citizen contacts made

u 225 business visits made

u 10 misdemeanor marijuana arrests made

u 16 controlled substances arrests made

u 5 drug paraphanelia arrests made

u 2 drug raids completed

Investigations Department received 65 new cases and solved 30.

u 293 arrestees received from all agencies

u 53 was the highest number in jail for one day. The jail capacity is 55.

u 26 was the lowest number in jail for one day

u 28 persons in jail attended AA counseling

u 39 persons in jail attended abusive substances counseling

 u 1 community event attended by the Foley PD Mounted Unit

u 15 animal service calls were answered

u 2 neighborhood watch initial meetings were held.
