GULF SHORES, Ala – The City of Gulf Shores is excited to announce the lineup for Music at Meyer Park. Whether you like rock, jazz, blues or zydeco, the 2012 edition of Music at Meyer Park concerts have what you’re looking for.

On April 26, Dash Rip Rock takes the stage to kick off Music at Meyer Park. This legendary New Orleans-based trio, known for their unique roots music, was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in January. Having shared the stage with legendary artists like The Ramones, Black Crowes, No Doubt and many others, Dash Rip Rock is sure to deliver with their high energy style, mixed with a little rock, country and soul.

May 10, brings Roman Street to the Meyer Park stage as this energetic band, born and raised out of Mobile, AL, introduces you to their “new” flamenco, smooth and not-so-smooth jazz, and their own brand of fusion style music with a youthful and spontaneous approach to musical expression.

Rebecca Barry with Bust joins us at Meyer Park on May 31. Barry has headlined venues like New Orleans Jazz Festival and French Quarter Festival while sharing the stage with the likes of Paul McCartney, George Clinton and The Temptations. This night is one you will not want to miss.

On June 7, we welcome Midnight Confessions as they perform all of your favorites from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today. This local, variety dance band features all five members on vocals while blowing you away with their assortment of guitars, keyboard, flute, drums and more.

June 28, Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band close out Music at Meyer Park with a performance you won’t forget. Once this accordion-playing virtuoso grabs the mic and takes to the stage with his band mates, audiences are treated to a show like no other. Chubby’s sound is infectious – a concoction of blues, 70s funk, rock and roll, and good-ole zydeco flavor – and makes even the most timid individuals get their feet moving. Their latest release “Zydeco Junkie,” has taken the group to new heights after winning the Grammy Award for Best Zydeco/Cajun Album in February 2011. If you haven’t experienced the high energy, swamp funky, zydeco sound of Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, it is time you join the legions of fans that have.

Each of the Music at Meyer Park concerts will begin at 6:00 pm and are free to the public. Be sure to bring your blankets, chairs, friends and family and join us at Meyer Park to enjoy the beautiful weather, fun and excitement. Meyer Park is located at 400 E. 22nd Avenue in Gulf Shores.
