ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — The Robertsdale City Council met on Monday, Jan.7, at 6 p.m. Seeing no additions or corrections in the Council’s December minutes, the Mayor motioned to move on to the payment of bills in the amount of $256,930.37. Seeing no objections or questions the Council voted unanimously to pay the bills.

There was one resolution before the Council, which regarded the financing package put together to purchase the Fire Department’s new rescue pumper truck. Council member Sue Cooper motioned to approve the resolution, which the Council voted unanimously to pass. There will be a special meeting on Jan. 10, at 5 p.m. to discuss impact fees.

This was followed by a presentation from Baldwin EMC. Representing Baldwin EMC before the Council were Karen Moore with public relations and Joe Coleman, newest Board Member and Chairman. With this they presented the Council with their tax receipts and check for $33,739.48.

According to the representatives, in 2007, there were 16,018 EMC accounts within Robertsdale proper. This is a 417 account increase over the previous year and great sign of area progress. With that, the Council voted to dismiss until the next meeting on Thursday.
