Monday, May 24 will be an active day for city government meetings with the Fairhope Financial Advisory Committee, City Council work session and regular meeting starting at 4:45 p.m. and running consecutively. The agendas for each of these meetings follows.
The Fairhope Financial Advisory Committee will meet at 4:45 p.m. in the Delchamps Room, 161. N. Section St. The published agenda includes the following:
1. Approval of the April 26 meeting minutes.
2. Status of the RFP for health insurance bid.
3. Status of FY 2010 funding of OPEB liability, compared to budget.
4. Review of cost-reduction projects, a follow-up from the May 17 City Council workshop.
5. Discussion of cost-reduction assumptions for the FY 2011 budget.
The next FAC meeting is scheduled for June 28.
City Council work session will begin at 5:15 p.m., in the Council Chambers to discuss fee waivers
The regular City Council meeting will start at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The published agenda includes the following:
1. Approve Minutes of the May 10 Regular City Council Meeting and minutes of the May 17 Work Session.
2. Old Business: Rick Kingrea, “Where do we stand.”
3. Report of the Mayor
4. Council Comments: Dan Stankoski, financial matters.
5. City Administrator.
6. Recreation Board, three appointments.
7. Resolution: Award RFQ for an Underground Primary Conductor for the Electrical Department (RFQ No. 009-10).
8. Resolution: Award RFQ for Three Phase Pad Mount Transformers for the Electrical Department (RFQ No. 008-10).
9. Resolution: Award Bid for Traffic Signal Equipment for the Electrical Department (Bid No. 010-10).
10. Resolution: Purchase 21,000 feet of 2-inch gas pipe for the Gas Department.
11. Resolution: That the city of Fairhope will not provide police escorts by Fairhope Police Department for funerals, except in the case of firefighters, police officers and citizens of Fairhope on active military duty, who are killed in the line of duty.
12. Resolution: That the City Council approves and declares a list of flowers as unique “Like Items” and the extension of this categorization to include any cultivated varieties, differentiated by scientific name.
13. Resolution: That the City Council hereby approves and requires all payments for mileage reimbursements be submitted to the City Treasurer on the “Mileage Reimbursement Form” completely filled out. There will be no payments made for mileage unless this form is completed.
14. Resolution: That Mayor Timothy M. Kant is authorized to accept the $650,000 from the state of Alabama, which is our share of the $25 million block grant directly from British Petroleum for expenses incurred by the city for additional protective measures over and above what British Petroleum puts in place as part of the Federal Response Plan.
14. Ordinance: Red Clay (Clay and Silt) Ordinance, An ordinance to repeal and replace Ordinance 759 and Ordinance 1313, known as the Coastal Protection Ordinance. (Introduced at the May 10 City Council Meeting.)
15. Ordinance: An ordinance amending Ordinance 1401 to Amend Article I, in General, Section 12-5.2 relating to the noise section, Fairhope Code of Ordinances; amending the holidays listed to delete Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and add Halloween.
16. Ordinance: An ordinance to amend and add to Chapter 4 Alcohol Beverages, Article I, in General, Section 4-2, relating to hours of sale, Fairhope Code of Ordinances. unlawful to exchange, barter, give or sell any alcoholic beverages to the general public during the following hours and days: Sunday through Wednesday from 12:00 a.m. midnight to 7 a.m.; and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m., excluding private clubs; and specifying holidays as listed in the Noise Ordinance and the application process.
17. Ordinance: An ordinance establishing that the placement, use and investment of city funds will be at the sole discretion of the City Treasurer.
18. Ordinance: An ordinance establishing that no waivers or reductions of fees shall be allowed without the approval of the Fairhope City Council.
19. Public Participation.
