City’s new district lines drawn

DAPHNE, Ala. — New district lines for the city of Daphne have been approved by the attorney general’s office as of Thursday.

The attorney general’s office received proposed changes in district boundaries and polling sites on June 17, according to a letter from Christopher Coates, chief of voting for the U.S. Department of Justice.

Municipal elections will be held on Aug. 26 at the following locations:

•District 1: Boys and Girls Club on Johnson Road

•District 2: Nicholson Center at  College Avenue and Captain O’Neal Drive

•District 3: Fire Station 2 on Main Street

•Districts 4 and 5: Daphne  Civic Center on Whispering Pines Road and U.S. Highway 98

•Districts 6 and 7: Trojan Hall at Daphne High School
