Claire Joan Redmond, born in 1929 in Brooklyn, N.Y., left us to join her husband of 62 years on Jan. 07, 2016.
She was a second-generation Norwegian who earned a place as a graduate of FIT in New York and studied fashion design.
Her love for her children, Gail (Ron), Patrick (Kim) and Janice, and her American Airlines pilot husband, Patrick, kept her traveling and setting up housekeeping around the world. Her grandchildren Julia, Kyle, Ryan, Andros, Elizabeth, Caitlin and great-grandchildren, Charlie Faye, Conner and Jake brought her much joy.
She was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, and was a lifelong reader and intellectual conservative who loved Alabama.
She will be placed in rest with her beloved husband at Barrancas National Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held Feb. 23, 2016 to allow her far-flung friends and family to gather.
