GULF SHORES, Ala. — Art Alley in the Pelican Place shopping center in Gulf Shores holds a “Meet The Artists” reception on the first Saturday of every month, from 6-9 p.m.

The gallery’s guests are treated to wine and snacks.

At the September reception local artist Kathleen Tucker demonstrated painting an acrylic on canvas.

The finished floral scene was then given away as a door prize to L.H. Wilson.

The next reception will be Oct. 3, with a floor cloth hand-painted by Tucker offered as the door prize.

Tucker teaches adult art classes at Art Alley on the fourth Tuesday of each month, also from 6-9 p.m.

Students are invited to bring a beverage (wine), but everything else is provided.

The class will complete a painting with a different subject in each session.

Elizabeth Blaylock will be teaching a acrylic/oil workshop on Nov. 10,11 and 12, from 2 to 5 p.m.
