Fred Lyle Cleaveland Jr., 55, a native of Foley and a resident of Silverhill, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, after a two-year battle with cancer.

After graduating from Foley High School in 1970, he attended DeVrie Institute in Atlanta. He served six years in the Air Force. For 26 years his life career was that of a boat pilot for Nelson Marine in Mobile.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Nathan Lyle; and his father, F. Lyle Cleaveland Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Cleaveland of Silverhill; his mother, Lois Cleaveland of Molino, Fla.; two sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Donaldson of Foley and Gay (Bennie) Hassebrock of Molino, Fla.; nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
