GULF SHORES, Ala. — The seniors at Day Break Senior Daycare were thrilled to be visited by musician Cliff Jones recently.

Cliff played a long list of “old favorites” from various genres ranging from hymns to swing and big-band to pop tunes from the 50’s and 60’s.

He performed for more than an hour and often volunteers and participants sang along and played “name-that-tune.” Everyone had a great time!

The senior daycare provides participants’ fulltime caregiver with short term relief from the unrelenting demands of care giving by providing time out to grocery shop, attend support groups, or visit friends and family.

All Day Break Senior Daycare participants must be pre-registered. The program is not designed to provide medical or counseling services but to provide support for the caregivers and their loved ones.

It is offered every Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and is located in Building B on the South Campus of Gulf Shores United Methodist Church. Cost is $20 per visit and includes a hot lunch. Those interested in learning about becoming a part of Day Break as a volunteer, a participant, or a benefactor should contact Dolly Crewes at 251-968-3634 (dollycrewes @gmail.com) or Amelia Fletcher at 251-968-2549 (amelia@gulfshoresumc.org).
