Clifford Len Hayles, 81, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 in Uriah, Ala.

Mr. Hayles was a native of Eliska, Ala., a former resident of Little River and a resident of Uriah for the past nine years.

He was member of the Little River Baptist Church, and attended the Semirah Freewill Baptist Church.

He was a Korean War veteran, with the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was in the Masonic Lodge of Chickasaw, Clayton Chapter OES No. 306 and the American Legion.

His first wife, Erma Gentry Hayles; and parents, Lewis and Mattie Hayles; preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Voncile Peters of Uriah; two daughters, Cathy (Greg) Pons of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Wanda Hayles (Johnny) Martin of Mobile; one stepson, Chief (Linda) Peters of Atmore; two stepdaughters, Sissy (Melvin) Wiggins of Goodway, Ala. and June (Derris) Greg of Barnetts Crossroads; one brother, David Hayles of Saraland; one sister, Clayton Pennington of Mobile; four grandchildren, Becky Pons (Justin) Eaddy of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jarod Hayles Martin of Mobile, Justin Hayles (Amanda) Martin of Mobile and Alexander Pons of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 21, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronald Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Mamie’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chief Peters, Justin Hayles Martin, Jarod Hayles Martin, Alexander Pons, Scotty McGhee and Kyle Wiggins.
