With Christmas past, anyone who received a new television might be looking for a place to dispose of their old set. As spring cleaning approaches, many people may have boxes of old bank statements or tax records to get rid of.
The Coastal Alabama Annual E-Cycling and Shred Day Jan. 9 at the Gulf State Park Pavilion event is for individuals who wish to dispose of their personal paper documents, such as tax information and returns, utility bills, credit card statements and other items, to be shredded. Electronic items such as televisions, computers, printers and vacuums can also be disposed of. Participants do not have to get out of their cars. Volunteers will remove the items.
Each vehicle is limited to 50 pounds of shredding. Participants are asked to not tape or tie the bags or boxes. Technology items should be checked for batteries.
This event is presented by the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber, city of Orange Beach and the city of Gulf Shores. The event is located at the Gulf State Park Pavilion and runs from 8 a.m. until noon.
