FAIRHOPE, Ala. - The Amore Que Latte coffee shop, just south of the Key West Inn on Greeno Road in Fairhope, is donating its organic coffee grounds for gardeners to use as compost in their plots at the Homestead Village Community Garden, according to a news release of the Fairhope-based nonprofit organization Local Food Production Initiative.

The coffee shop is operated by Fernando Guerard, originally of Madrid, Spain.

“The European flavor is evident in the relaxed atmosphere,” the release stated.  “The coffee is wonderful, and the paninis and salads are delectable.  Bring your laptop or book, and stay awhile.”

The next meeting of LFPI will feature a presentation on successful fruit production and will meet at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 21 at Fairhope United Methodist Church Christian Life Center on Morphy Avenue just east of Section Street.
