Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Lee Colbert of Pelham announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Eileen Colbert, to Matthew Marmaduke Coate, son of Mr. and Mrs. Livingston Marmaduke Coate of Spanish Fort.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Virginia B. Noland of Montgomery.
She is a graduate of Oviedo High School and a graduate of Auburn University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in nutrition and food science and her Master of Science Degree in nutrition. She is pursuing her Doctorate Degree in molecular physiology at Vanderbilt University.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herndon Tartt Coate Sr. of Spanish Fort, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Adna Crear Anderson Jr. of Jackson.
He is a graduate of Daphne High School and received a Bachelor of Science in forestry from Auburn University. He is employed with Whitson Lumber Company of Clarksville, Tenn.
The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Bluff Park United Methodist Church in Birmingham.
