Grace E. Coleman, born Jan. 23, 1936, a native and resident of Fairhope, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008.
She was a faithful member of Twin Beech A.M.E. Zion Church. She was an amazing courageous woman, with the most incredible faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Hermean Coleman, son Barry Coleman, three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include four children Vickie (Ben) Graham, Dyan Coleman, Greg (Maeola) Coleman, all of Fairhope, and Ryan (Pam) Coleman of Honolulu; daughter-in-law, Linh Coleman of San Diego; two brothers, Cornelius Coleman of Fairhope and Oscar (Denise) Coleman of Fresno, Calif.; three sisters, Margaret (Melvin) Valrie of Daphne, Lena (James) Reed of Fairhope, and Augustine (Jerry) Thompson of Victorville, Calif.; sister-in-law, Alice Coleman; two aunts, Lena (Ben) Lawrence and Annice Odom of Fairhope; eight grandchildren, Shawn (Laureal) Graham, Corey Graham, Josh Graham, Patrice (Leparis) Johnson, Shanell Shepard, Gracie Coleman, Faith Coleman, and Ryan Coleman Jr.; three great-grandchildren, McCullyn and Bella Graham, and Amiyah Johnson; a host of nieces, four devoted, Ann Leath, Joyce Hutera, Carla Mixon, Maggie Clinton, nephews, relatives and friends, one devoted, Lilly Mae Jones; devoted caregiver, Bertie Dacus and the caring support from the Hospice staff at Mercy Medical.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at Twin Beech A.M.E. Zion Church, 6664 Twin Beech Road, Fairhope with the Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Twin Beech Cemetery.
