Bay Minette, Alabama-- Faulkner State Community College’s College Bowl Team ranked sixth in the nation at the recent NAQT Community College National Championship in Panama City, Fla.
Faulkner State’s team captain Marisa Gonzalez from Atmore, Ala. ranked fourth in the nation as an individual scorer.
As a result of the team’s outstanding performance, Faulkner State has been invited to attend the NAQT University-level National Championship in Chicago during the end of March. Only the top-ranked six community colleges in the nation are invited to attend. Faulkner State is the only community college from Alabama invited to this year’s championship.
The College Bowl team is composed of students interested in competing academically in a question-and-answer competition with other teams throughout the state and nation.
