FAIRHOPE, Ala. — A prayer vigil will be held Tuesday, June 8, 6 p.m. at the Municipal Pier Park.

"We will gather at the foot of the Fairhope Pier around the fountain in the rose garden as a show of our commitment to stand together and support one another through whatever challenge await us in light of the Gulf oil spill," stated Cynthia "Maggie" Mosteller-Timbes in an e-mail announcement.

According to Mosteller-Timbes,simultaneous vigils will be held all along the Gulf Coast at that time.

Mayor Tim Kant will speak at the Fairhope vigil and Kathryn Scheldt will sing "Mercy Send A Dove," which she co-wrote with Anne Kent Rush in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina.
