ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – Aloha Hospitality and Bob Baumhower are excited to announce the grand opening of the Compleat Angler Seafood Grille and Bar in the former Guy Harvey Island Grill restaurant space at The Wharf entertainment, retail and residential complex in Orange Beach.
The Compleat Angler will open to the public in April of 2012 and bring 100-plus direct job opportunities to the area. As past owner of Calypso’s and Mangos at the Orange Beach
Marina, Baumhower is “thrilled to be returning to the beach!”.
Alabama Tourism Director,Lee Sentell, states, ““Bob Baumhower has become a significant force in the culinary industry in the South and it is great to see Orange Beach get this kind of attention and investment from his company. His strong support of the local seafood industry is a model that others should embrace. “
This will be the 11th operating restaurant and the second Compleat Angler to open under Baumhower’s Aloha Hospitality Corp., the first Compleat Angler is anchored in Daphne and was previously known as Bimini Bob’s.
The Compleat Angler Seafood Grille & Bar offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience with the finest seafood gumbo, the biggest and best burgers
in Alabama, and the most stunning views of the sunset anywhere on the Gulf Coast! The Jubilee Platter, the “world’s largest seafood platter,” is even featured on The Year of Alabama Food’s 100 Dishes to Eat Before You Die.
Baumhower states, “It is an important part of our strategy to think globally and act locally. I take personal pride in serving our customers some of the freshest food on the Gulf of Mexico. We use fresh fruit in all of our mixed drinks, our seafood is bought locally, whenever possible, our chicken, burgers, and steaks are fresh, never frozen and our produce and other ingredients are garden-fresh and bought daily to ensure a meal that I am
honored to put my name behind.”
The restaurant seats more than 300 people both indoors and out. A flagship retail store will be attached with custom t-shirts, specialty sauces and more available to all who visit.
