COMPTON
Doris Compton, 79, a resident of Lillian, died Saturday, May 3 in Pensacola, Fla.
She was born Oct. 5, 1928 in Rowlesburg, W.Va.
Survivors include her husband, James Howard Compton of Lillian; daughter, Margaret Stites of Carlsbad, Calif.; son, Mike Compton of Lillian; sister, Betty Sthrother of Exeter; one granddaughter, Gretchen Stites of Oakland; and two grandsons, Chris Compton of Birmingham and Eric Compton of Lillian.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with services at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at Lillian United Methodist Church.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., Suite 1100, New York, NY 10016; or to the Lillian United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 508, Lillian, AL 36549.
