SPANISH FORT, Ala. — An eclectic live music sampling offering “something for everyone” is on tap at the Bluegill Restaurant on the Causeway June 24.

“Concert for a Cause,” benefiting the March of Dimes, will feature eight local acts performing in 30-minute sets from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Catherine North, the charity’s division director, said her office has sold about 100 advance $10 tickets, but the fundraising goal is to sell 500.

“I’m not sure how many the Bluegill has sold yet, but we’re hearing it’s getting a good response,” North said.

The concert lineup includes Hank Becker, Four Flat Tires, Jon Miller Band, Lisa Zanghi, The Mailman & The Special Delivery Band, Daymoon Sky, Nyabinghi Djehutti and Sergio Davis.

In addition, the $10 ticket price includes a chance to win a five-day cruise, departing Nov. 15, from Mobile. North said the cruise is being donated by Carnival Cruise Lines and Springdale Travel.

North also noted anyone under the age of 21 attending the musical benefit must be accompanied by an adult.

“The Bluegill is really strict about this, and there will be no exceptions made,” she said.

The March of Dimes is a national organization dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature births and infant mortality through a variety of research, community services, education and advocacy efforts.
