Constance Sallie Gravely Hicks passed away July 22, 2014.
She was born Aug. 13, 1937 in Miami, Fla. to Walter Mitchell and Grace Miller Gravely.
Previous natives of Mobile, Robert and Connie have lived in Fairhope for the last 27 years.
Connie was a Class of 1955 Murphy High School graduate. She was retired as a G.S. 11 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where she had previously been awarded “Woman of the Year.”
Connie was a former scuba instructor in Mobile.
She was a member of Swift Presbyterian Church of Foley.
Connie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert C. Hicks; their children, Wayne Hicks of Raleigh, N.C., Kathy Hicks of Fairhope and Karen and Chuck Diard of Fairhope; grandchildren, Sarah R., Charles R. and Elizabeth G. Diard; sisters, Jackie (Bo) Long and Marion Gravely; her brother-in-law, Charles David (Della) Hicks; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hicks; and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 6 p.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
The family requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the USA Mitchell Cancer Center, 1660 Springhill Ave., Mobile, AL 36604.
