Continuing Excellence is moving into its third year with a full schedule packed with opportunities for residents and snowbirds. The program offers a variety of free workshops, classes and events for adults in the community.
The spring semester offers twice as many class offerings as the fall. Jessica Langston, Orange Beach creative director, said she hopes to see registration numbers increase as they strive to offer a wide variety of educational experiences.
"Continuing Excellence is a great opportunity to tackle a skill set you've always wanted to learn," said Langston. "Those of us who are interested in travel may want to learn a foreign language so that we can immerse ourselves in different cultures. Some enjoy dancing and reap the benefits of physical fitness, stress relief and social opportunities."
The classes are open to snowbirds, part-time residents and full-time residents. Students who will not be in the area through May are still encouraged to participate but to communicate with their instructor after registration so that they can plan accordingly.
Students can expect to walk away with not only a new skill and gained experience, but also relationships.
The spring 2022 schedule offers classes in:
"Pursuing life-long goals can help us to be healthy and happy. We just hope that everyone takes this opportunity to delve in and enjoy life to the fullest," Langston said.
Most classes are held at the Orange Beach Recreation Center. For more information, class descriptions or to register for classes visit www.orangebeachal.gov/events.
