GULF SHORES, AL - As the day is drew to a close the fire and the smoke was beginning to settle down at the County Road 6 controlled burn. There were a couple of instances where the fire crossed the fire break and GSFR crews quickly extinguished and stopped any unwanted progression.
As a precaution, State Forestry brought in more equipment and extra crews to have on hand for the Martinwoods subdivision and remain ready to deploy.
By late Saturday night the fire is contained as GSFR and Forestry crews remained on scene throughout the night to monitor any changes.
Estimated time of completion should be Sunday Evening.
