FAIRHOPE, Ala. — “The Story of Coppélia, The Girl With the Enamel Eyes” will be presented by the Bay Shore Ballet Theatre April 24 at 7:30 p.m. and April 25 at 3 p.m. at the Fairhope Civic Center.
Known as a story of sneakery, imaginary magic and drifting love, Coppélia is one of the earliest ballets that features a doll coming to live as part of the plot.
The ballet is adapted from Der Sandmann by E.T.A. Hoffman.
General admission is $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and children age 10 and under.
Reserved seats are $15.
Admission to a preview performance April 25 at 10 a.m. is just $5.
Cost per student for a school performance April 24 at 10 a.m. is $3.
In conjunction with the ballet, a “Coppelia” storytime will take place March 28, at 11 a.m., at the Fairhope Public Library.
