Cornelia “Connie” Peterson Baggett, 90, a native og Gateswood and a resident of Bay Minette, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011.
She was a seamstress at Bay Slacks and also worked at the Baldwin Times.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bay Minette; and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, where she was a past worthy matron.
She will be sadly missed by her close friends, Mary Joe Crosby, Velma Wright, Althea Dunn and Jerry Ballard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bama Peterson; her husband, Ottis L. Baggett; son, Leonard Baggett; and grandson, Chris Williamson.
Survivors include four children, Jean (J.D.) Spoence, Carol Powell, Sandra (Bill) Williamson and Clayton (Kari) Baggett; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Baggett; brother, Elmer (Doll) Peterson; two sisters, Eileen Studlar and Myrtle (Grover) Robbinette; grandchildren, Ronnie (Bonnie) Wilson, Melissa (Joey) Brown, Stephen (Kristy) Wilson, Janet (David) Redding, Debby (Terry) Murren, Lynn Powell, Timothy (Darla) Williamson, Jeremy Baggett, Ashley Baggett, Donnie (Kathy) Baggett, Sindy Anderson, Eddie (Abby) Baggettt and Randy (Linday) Baggett; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4 at Norris Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
