GULF SHORES, Ala. — Mike Dodd wants to help ‘rev up’ Gulf Shores City employees and make a charitable contribution at the same time.
Dodd is hoping to get approval from the City to place Revive Energy Mints vending machines in city facilities.
Dodd and his wife Amy bought the distributorship and hopes to offer a healthier break for city employees.
“We want to place these machines anywhere there is an energy need or a mentally focus need, like police stations and fire departments. Anywhere where there is a break room for employees,” Dodd said.
According to Dodd, Energy Mints are healthy, having the same benefits as a Red Bull energy drink, but without the sugar and the high cost.
“These mints cost .50 cents a piece,” said Dodd, “and they are full of antioxidants, acai berry, green tea, ginseng – all healthy products, but they only have four calories.”
Dodd said the benefit to the city is that it would help give the city employees an energy boost and would help keep them mentally focused without having to take numerous bathroom breaks if they were drinking energy drinks throughout the day.
“It is a cutting edge product made of totally 100 percent natural products. We are placing them in Mobile and all over Baldwin County, and hopefully with the City’s approval, we can put them in city buildings here in Gulf Shores.”
The amount of antioxidants and health benefits inside just one mint equals an entire serving of fruit.
Dodd said that each month, the company makes a monthly donation to the National Children’s Cancer Society.
“There is a sticker on each mint that informs the consumer of our donation. In the last year, the vending program with the National Children’s Cancer Society raised over $180,000.
