ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — The Robertsdale City Council met on Monday afternoon this week. Among the numerous items approved on the agenda was the appointment of Helen Peterson to a previously vacant position on the Zoning Board of Adjustments.
El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant, currently under new ownership, was granted an ABC Restaurant Retail Liquor License. The council also granted a request from the Rosinton Volunteer Fire Department for the donation of a surplus police cruiser, which the Robertsdale Police Department intended to sell prior to this decision, but graciously agreed to.
Also approved was the request for the purchase of new trucks for the Water, Gas & Sewer Department and the City Parks Department, as well as the sponsorship of a sign for the Robertsdale High School Basketball Team.
Council members voted unanimously for an increase of the spending limit in city employee’s health care flex accounts.
Late additions to the council’s agenda were the approval of a Planning Commission surety bond posting of $149,000 for the guaranteed completion of the Inglewood community subdivision and bid results from the last council meeting.
