DAPHNE, Ala.—The Daphne City Council unanimously agreed to set its annual retreat date for March 8 at Malbis Community Center.
The council plans to devote a large portion of the weekend’s agenda to finding solutions for fixing many of Daphne’s older roads.
Councilman Derek Boulware asked Mayor Fred Small to distribute an itemized list of the city’s worst roads to all council members before the retreat.
Residents have complained to the council, during public participation, about the decaying state of the Lake Forest subdivision’s road system.
There’s a need for improved road leveling in the Tiawasee Trace subdivision, according to residents who have said that a right-turn lane is needed at the subdivision’s entrance.
In other business, city leaders:
Lake was granted $245; Palumbo received $210; and Boulware will get $175.
