Thomas “Shannon” Countryman, 41, a native and lifelong resident of Monroe County and a resident of Excel, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Providence Hospital.
He was a member of Excel Baptist Church. He worked as an electrician for Englewood Health Care Facility for several years.
Survivors include his mother, Jenny Countryman of Excel; father, Thomas Countryman of Monroeville; two sons, Foster Countryman of Excel and blake Felts of Excel; two sisters, Kelly (Jimmy Nelson of Gulf Shores and Tonya (Steve) Chandler of Franklin; aunt, Ann Sheffield of Excel; one niece, two nephews and one grand nephew.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, June 21 at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Daniel, the Rev. Terry Harden and the Rev. Jerry Peebles officiating. Burial will follow at Excel Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Alabama Head Injury Foundation, 31000 Lorna Road Suite 200, Hoover, AL 35216.
