LOXLEY, Ala. — A Rosinton couple were both hospitalized Thursday morning after sustaining injuries in an apparent suicide attempt.
According to Lt. Doug Phillips with the Loxley Police Department, the couple, which has not been identified, walked into the Loxley Police Department just after 8 a.m. Thursday.
“They announced that they had tried to kill themselves,” he said. Both man and woman had sustained gunshot wounds to the back of the head. The incident is believed to have happened around Campbell Road in the Rosinton community, Phillips said.
The man was taken by LifeFlight and the woman by ambulance to USA Medical Center in Mobile. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident, Phillips said. No charges have been filed.
“(There wouldn’t be charges) if they were both willing participants,” he said, “but of course, at this point, that will be up to the Sheriff’s Department.”
