Creation reveals its Creator. By it, we understand that God is intentional, intelligent, powerful, attentive, and artful. “For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20, NIV) Clues about God and His existence are painted across the endless skies and etched into the tiniest detail of a flower. His divine authorship is stamped into every colorful dawn and glistening sea – their beauty, only eclipsed by His own. The complexity, origin and splendor of nature point to an incredible God. Creation shouts to humanity, “God is glorious!”

One day, while watching the sun sink into the Gulf’s horizon, I became entranced by the water’s serene cadence. I watched the orange-lit waves come and go, come and go as a steady rhythmic dance. It began long before my visit and would continue long after I’d gone – uninterrupted by campaigns, wars, celebrations or tragedies.

Like the seas, whose cadence has persisted through all the ages of man, the love of God has remained ever faithful, ‘ever in flow’. His compassion is undimmed by time and unwearied in pursuit. He never quits on us, the jewel of His creation. I wrote this poem, “Ever in Flow”, in an effort to praise His faithfulness. Glory to His name.

Restless Seas –

Do you weary grow?

Ever in ebb, Ever in flow?

Your dance without end

Upon the sand and the wind;

Your destination the same

Again and again?

Do you wish to retire, to break, to rest?

The beauty, you don’t

My joy, so blest!

Tireless God –

With weary none,

Who by a word, the sea has spun

Like a love that ebbs on and on;

A dance without end

Upon the hearts of men

Your destination the same

Again and again!

In You, I retire, I break, I rest.

The beauty, Your love

My joy, so blest!
