PENSACOLA, Fla. — Let your creativity come alive as you soak your fingers in the colors of the rainbow for the “Hands on History” paint-a-plane event at Flight Fest on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., behind the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola.

Kids of all ages are invited join in the fun by leaving a painted handprint on an F-5 Tiger (T-38 Talon) airplane. Handprints of all sizes and colors will decorate this “Top Gun” aircraft.

Rainbow the Clown, Nate the Magician and Scoop from the Pensacola Pelicans will entertain the kids with magic tricks, balloon sculptures and so much more.

The fun also includes face painting and a bounce house for hours of entertainment for the whole family.

Flight Fest, as well as admission to the Museum, is free.

For a complete list of events and exhibits at the museum, visit www.navalaviationmuseum.org, or call the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation at (850) 453-2389 or (800) 327-5002.

The National Naval Aviation Museum features nearly 300,000 square feet of displays, and is one of the world’s largest aviation museums. Located aboard the Pensacola Naval Air Station, the facility boasts more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard aviation, and is Florida’s most-visited museum.

Among the countless things to touch, see and experience is a thrilling Top Gun flight simulator, a variety of special exhibits as well as the drama and power of amazing IMAX films.

The Cubi Bar Café offers a unique dining experience, and the Flight Deck Store is the perfect place to find a memento of the spirit of Naval aviation.

The National Naval Aviation Museum is open every day, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m., except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
