Paulette Adele Gable Cromling of Fairhope died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009.

She graduated from Fairhope High School in 1963. She retired from the coast Guard Reserves as chief yoeman. She was a retired Federal employee having worked as a procurement specialist at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C.; as personal property administrator at USCG/ISC New Orleans, and as a histotech at the VA Hospital in Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ann Gable, and brother, Charles Gable.

Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Cromling of Fairhope; son, Timothy L. Perkins of Chicago; daughter, Janene Brown (Geno) Johnson of Cary, N.C.; loving granddaughter, Taylor Melissa Johnson of Cary; brother, Wayne Gable of Fairhope; nephew, Kyle Gable; stepdaughter, Michelle Cromling Dranka of Chicago; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many devoted friends.

A Celebration of Life memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at 358 Kumquat St., Fairhope.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, Office of Development, DUMC 3828, Durham, NC 27710 (website, www.gifts.duke.edu/dccc).
