Gladys Myers Cummings, born July 25, 1919 in Pensacola Fla., 90, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 at a local hospital.
She was a lifelong member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Fairhope. She was a homemaker, an artist and an avid gardener. She loved baseball. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Bessie Myers of Fairhope, a sister, Muriel Engle; and sister-in-law, Mabel Myers.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Herbert J. Cummings of Spanish Fort; two children, Sandra (Donald) Sherrin of Summerdale and Roy (Debbie) Cummings of Fairhope; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Violet (Charles) Butler of California, Roy (Dorothy) Myers of Washington, Charles (Helen) Myers of Daphne, Fay Gray of Chunchula, Barbara Dahlgren of Chunchula and James Myers of Fairhope; many nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Thomas Hospital Foundation, Trinity Presbyterian Church, the School of Organic Education or the charity of your choice.
Funeral services and visitation were held Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Silas.
Arrangements were made by the Pinecrest Funeral Home of Mobile.
