GULF SHORES, Ala. — As approximately 200 new cases of multiple sclerosis are diagnosed nationally each week, the search for a cure will take to the streets of the Alabama Gulf Coast.
Registration has now opened for the 2009 Bike MS: Border Bash in Orange Beach, set for May 2-3.
Organized by the Alabama and North Florida chapters of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, this ride will cover 150 miles in two days.
Cyclists will begin their journey on both Saturday and Sunday at 7 a.m. and meander through scenic southern Baldwin County before returning to The Wharf by 3 p.m.
“Bike MS is a ride for serious and recreational cyclists alike,” said Beverly Billingsley, a past Bike MS participant. “There truly is something for everyone. This is a great event for a worthy cause, and I plan to participate as long as I can keep peddling.”
Registration is $30 per rider. For more information or to register for this ride, visit bikeMSborderbash.org or call the Alabama chapter at 205-879-8881.
