Percy J. Dale, born March 13, 1908, a native and life long resident of Fairhope, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009.
He was a World War II veteran and self-employed businessman for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Eunice M. Dale, his parents Henry and Ellen Dennis Dale, siblings Hezekiah, Desiree, Sam, Vandy, Estelle, Annie Liza, and one grandson, Curtis Dale.
Survivors include three daughters, Rachel D. Lett, Delaney (Shelly) Jenkins, and Ruby Dale all of Fairhope, two sisters-in-law, Eva Mitchell of Fairhope and Lucretia Williams of Monticello, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Iris J. Trent, Roxie (Waymond) Buchanan of Fairhope, Leon Lett, Carlos Lett of Dallas, Shellene Jenkins, Percy Jenkins of Fairhope, Clayton Jenkins of Mobile, Gregory Dale of Fairhope and the Rev. Terry (Tamara) Dale of Mobile; 18 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; a devoted friend Charlie McCovery of Fairhope, a host of nieces, nephews, many other family and friends.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home.
