Sherian’s Dance Company, the entertainment and competition troupe of Sherian’s School of Dance in Foley, took their talents to the Kids’ Artistic Revue Regional Finals held at the Mobile Civic Center from April 20 - 22. Competing against more than 250 dancers from 15 studios throughout the Southeast the local ladies shone on the stage, garnering 11 First Place and Top First Place awards, a Special Judges’ Award for their tap rendition of “Sour Cherry” and a Top Five finish in the Intermediate Overall competition.
Success on a competitive stage is no stranger to these young ladies, who range in age from 5 to 13. Some of these dancers have competed for more than 7 years, working their way up from Primary Division, through Secondary Division to Intermediate Division with the competition becoming fiercer and more talented along the way.
“We’re very pleased to have reached the Intermediate level of competition with some of our dancers,” said Sherian Cain, Owner/Director of the studio. “The awards are a testament to their commitment and dedication to dance and their devotion to their teammates in the Company. Continuity of training and effort is very important in dance and it’s a blessing to watch their consistent progress over the years.”
Sherian’s Dance Company was invited and will compete in the Kids’ Artistic Revue’s National Finals competition to be held in Panama City, FL in June."
