Daniel Vincent DiNardi, 14, a resident of Daphne, died Monday, June 27, 2011.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Suzy.

He attended Daphne Middle School and was in his happy place in life, doing the things he loved to do. He spent his days fishing, riding his dirt bike, making videos, and he loved food. His proudest moment was just two weeks ago, when he caught a shark off May Day Pier.

He was strong, physically, emotionally and spiritually. He was passionate and compassionate. He said “I love you” everyday and had a smile that his mother found peace in.

His fight inspired thousands of people across the world, gave them hope and restored faith through the power of prayer.  His legacy will continue. He is his mama's hero.

Survivors include his parents, Mark Lazarek and Paula DiNardi Lazarek of Daphne; brother, William Scott of Columbia, S.C.; sister, Julianna “Jules” DiNardi of Daphne; his great-grandmother, Barbara Mitchell of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, three step-sisters and thousands of friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1 at the Church On The Eastern Shore, Fairhope.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Paula DiNardi Benefit Account for Daniel DiNardi at any Vision Bank.  Contact Lauren Dango with questions, 251-929-7471.
