DAPHNE, Ala.—Daphne’s Homewood Suites was recently named the top-performing hotel out of the brand’s 300 worldwide properties.

The Daphne location was selected to receive the highest level of recognition, the Connie Price Award. According to a press release, the hotel was evaluated and assessed along with other hotels in cleanliness, condition, brand standards, satisfaction and loyalty, tracking scores from guest surveys and the quality of accommodations.

General manager Chuck Cuff said being awarded the Connie Price Award was an accomplishment for the hotel and the employees.

“It is huge for us to be selected as the number one Homewood Suites in the world,” Cuff said. “It is a classification that very few hotels ever get. The Connie Price award is only given to one (hotel) every year and you don’t get many chances to get that one.”

Cuff said the hotel has been working on improving the guest experience.

“We don’t work for awards we work for guests. It is mostly our people who do what they can for our gests to make sure they get the best experience,” Cuff said. “We have great guests that are staying with us. We keep working on improvements everyday, we have a huddle and we talk about who is coming in. We are always working on improvements.”

The Daphne location was also awarded eight other global awards, which included most improved extended-stay percentage. The hotel has seen a 28 percent increase in extended stays over the past year. Cuff said almost 80 percent of the guests at the hotel stay for five or more nights.

Cuff was selected as one of the leading general managers in the company and Sandy Caruso was selected as one of the top sales directors.

The Daphne hotel also won awards in all four categories assessed by guest surveys and awards were given to the front-desk team, suitekeeping team, engineering team and food and beverage team.
