DAPHNE, Ala.—A Daphne High School organization will send busloads of students to Auburn University’s Jordan-Hare Stadium on Friday as they head to support the Trojans in the Class 6A football State Championship game.

“The DHS Quarterback Club is sponsoring a student fan bus that will depart from campus at 12:15 on Friday, Dec. 3” the school’s website stated.

The Trojans advanced to play Hoover with a 47-14 victory against Davidson High School last Friday night, and the state championship will begin this Friday at 7 p.m.

There are three busloads of football players and cheerleaders, three band buses and two fan buses, DHS executive secretary Cherie Theis said.

“The buses fill around 100 parents and students, and there are many other fans making the trip in their own cars,” Theis said.

The cost for the bus ride is $35. In addition, students will need money for a game ticket and food. Interested parents may also request to buy a ride on one of the Quarterback Club-sponsored buses.

Pre-game tickets are available for purchase in the DHS main office. They are $10 for adults and $8 for students.

Students planning to check out of school and make the trip to Auburn, whether on the bus or not, will need a note signed by parents and will need to bring their ticket stub back to school on Monday to get clearance for an excused absence, the website stated.

There also will be a “Trojan Walk”—similar to the Auburn football team’s “Tiger Walk”—at 5:15 p.m. Friday at the stadium prior to kick-off.

Before each Auburn home football game, thousands of Auburn fans line Donahue Avenue to cheer on the team as they walk from Sewell Hall—the athletes’ dormitory—to Jordan-Hare Stadium.
