Daphne library grateful for ‘Fall into Reading’ support

The Daphne Public Library would like to extend a sincere thank-you to all who helped make this year’s fourth annual Fall into Reading Celebration a success.

On Sept. 18, festival attendees enjoyed music from Jam ’N Folks and Connie Baggett; children received balloon art from DK the Clown; and played games while adults had the opportunity to bid on handcrafted items and enjoy a demonstration on the art of spinning by Linda Smith and follow Pricilla Verigan through the process of making miniature books.

The winner of the vintage basket raffle was Helena Harris from Gulf Shores.

This year’s event was sponsored by The Friends of the Daphne Public Library. Thank you to our Friends group, local patrons and businesses that generously supported our festival. Without them this event would not have been so successful.

Patron supporters:  Sherry Immel, Tonja Young, Carol Simmons, Jan Blankenhorn, Pricilla Verigan, Lynn Rios, Mertis Childress, Suzanne Funderburk, Marion McAleer, Rossana  Kelton, Carolyn Moseley, Bill Wilson, members of Jam ’N Folks,  Jan Tomecek and Linda Smith.

Business supporters: Publix and Chick-Fill-A.

All proceeds from the Fall into Reading Celebration help support the young adult area of the library.

The Daphne Teen Advisory Board wishes to thank all who participated, volunteered and supported this event.
