DAPHNE, Ala.—The Daphne Public Library will host a “Trick or Treat” even at 3 p.m. Friday.

There will be tossing games, prizes and candy, and admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to dress into their Halloween costumes.

“It’s just for them to have somewhere to go with their costumes and show them off,” Children’s Librarian Fanny Barnett said. “The two children’s librarians will be dressed up also.”

Barnett plans to dress up as a bumblebee for the event.

“I’m trying not to be too scary,” she said while laughing.

This is the third year the event will have games and prizes for the kids.

“They had the event for a few years, but before it was only candy (offered),” Barnett said.

Barnett said around 250 people attended last year’s event.
