DAPHNE, Ala.—The Daphne Planning Commission voted 6-1 on Thursday to grant Paradiso subdivision a one-year extension for the approval of a preliminary plat.
Commissioners Fire Chief Bo White, Victoria Phelps, Joe Lemoine, Ed Kirby, Larry Chason and Don Terry voted in favor of granting the extension. Commissioner Cathy Barnette voted against it.
The developer plans to move forward with the project but wants to wait and see what the market is like.
“It’s not our job to make it economically acceptable for site plan extension,” she said.
The commission approved the preliminary plat for the subdivision on Jan. 22, 2009, and the commission granted a one-year extension on Dec. 17, 2009.
