DAPHNE, Ala. — The Daphne Public Library invites teens to participate in a time-honored, cultured activity.

It’s tea time.

The library will present an afternoon tea at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 9. The menu will inclue tea, mini cookies, fruit and mints.

Carolyn Bivins, regional agent with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, will speak on etiquette.

The presentation will highlight social customs in today’s society.

“Knowledge in the art of social graces instills in youth a sense of self-confidence and sensitivity in social situations,” a library spokesperson stated in a news release.

The library will accept 16 reservations for rising sixth- through 12th-graders. The event is free. Pre-registration is required before Aug. 5.
